Easy How to: Fall Wreath

Advertisements

Hey guys, check out my new Fall wreaths I just made! If you know me, you know I appreciate a good wreath. If you really know me, you know that I like to make my own wreaths. Yes, I am that DIYer who tries to make her own things. Most of the time, I fail miserably, but sometimes, I do an okay job…. at least I like to think so :). Anyways, I know Fall is still a few weeks away, but I couldn’t help it, I love everything about Autumn. The leaves, the pumpkins, the weather… Halloween! It’s all wonderful. Summer is great too, but just like every other season, I’m over this one and ready for the next!

Anyway, back to the wreaths.

This is probably the easiest type of wreath anyone can make. You only need a few materials and if you’re a serial DIYer like myself, you probably have at least half of the items needed to make this one.

Things you’ll need:

Step 1:

Cut off the bottoms of your hydrangea stems. You’ll have about 3 or 4 blooms to work with with each cut. Since I made two identical wreaths, I used 8 hydrangea stems, but if you’re only making one wreath, all you’ll need is 4 stems. After cutting them from the stems, you’ll be left with lots of smaller sized blooms to make a more customized look.

Step 2:

Start at where you think will be the top center of your wreath. Hot glue the blooms and continue to glue them as evenly as possible. Once you’ve gone around the entire wreath, fill in all gaps above and below with your remaining blooms. Make sure to fill in all gaps for a full looking wreath.

Step 3:

Hang up your wreath! See, I told you that was easy! Sure, I did get a few blisters along the way from the hot glue gun, but no pain, no gain, amirite?! But seriously, its really just cut, glue and hang. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Okay I’m done.

Here are my wreaths hanging from my front door. Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of the color of our front doors. I plan to stain them a darker wood color, I just have to convince Jimmy…shouldn’t be too hard.

There’s so many things we want to do to our home, but that’ll be for another time on another post..so stay tuned!

xoxo
